TE WAIHORA/LAKE ELLESMERE – STATE OF THE LAKE AND FUTURE MANAGEMENT
Service Areas: Information Design, Photographic Resources

Following the 2006 Lake Ellesmere Symposium, the team at EOS Ecology were asked to design and publish a book on the state of the lake in 2009.

With the literature encompassing all aspects of the current state and future management of the lake, the EOS designers had to focus on intelligent design and imagery to make the expansive end document an engaging read. Redesigning and streamlining data graphics and utilising appropriate images were key design requisites. By generating visual continuity between chapters submitted by different authors and creating an overall sumptuous design, the EOS team have produced a professional publication appealing to a wide audience.

WATERWAYS, WETLANDS AND DRAINAGE GUIDE
Service Areas: Information Design, Photographic Resources, Urban Ecology

Aiming to create a definitive 400 page technical document about Christchurch’s drainage and waterway network, the Christchurch City Council commissioned EOS Ecology to create an end-product that would stand the test of time.

Intended for use by a range of end-users, from managers to technical personnel, the team at EOS had the challenge of producing a publication containing a high level of technical detail while also making it appropriate for less technical audiences. The EOS designers combined their scientific knowledge with their design skills to co-edit and design a document which encouraged the uptake of information by all of its readers.
