World fish migration day family event

A family fun day that aims to connect fish, rivers and people is being held on Saturday 24 May, World Fish Migration Day.

This event is a joint venture with the Department of Conservation, Environment Canterbury, Canterbury University, and scientists of all shapes and sizes including EOS Ecology staff.

The event runs from 11 am – 3 pm at Nature Play Park - 203 Hereford Street (beside Latimer Square).

Activities include:

  • Information stations
  • Demonstrations and talks by experts
  • Live fish tanks
  • Face-painting
  • Colouring in
  • Treasure hunts
  • Obstacle courses
  • A chocolate fish scramble
  • Short talks on native fish, building barriers, whitebait and pest fish are being held at 11 am and 1 pm.

EOS Ecology is proud to be involved in World Fish Migration Day.
