Who we are

EOS Ecology provides expert guidance, science interpretation, and public engagement in surface water ecosystems; from freshwater to coastal environments across Aotearoa. Our team combines scientific expertise with industry experience and a passion for clear communication. Since 2001, our diverse team of scientists, GIS and data specialists, science interpreters, and engagement professionals have partnered with government, industry, and community to deliver high-impact, sustainable solutions that bridge the gap between science and the people it serves.

From ecological assessments and monitoring to effective science interpretation and education, we translate complex data into practical insights and accessible knowledge, ensuring our findings inform real-world solutions. With experience across biological and physical ecology, sedimentation, restoration, participatory science programmes and community engagement, our work transforms complex data into clear, practical recommendations. Our team doesn’t just conduct research; we make science accessible and actionable, ensuring clients are empowered to make informed decisions with confidence.

Our Approach

At EOS Ecology, we believe credible science drives effective change. Our team excels in collaborative, multidisciplinary settings, where we work alongside clients, community groups, and stakeholders to achieve shared goals. Our proven communication and science interpretation skills mean that every project outcome is delivered in a format that suits the audience—whether technical reports for industry professionals or interactive outputs for schools and community groups. With a commitment to kaitiakitanga, integrity, and neutrality, we create tailored solutions that respect the environment and serve the community’s long-term interests.
