who we are
EOS Ecology is a New Zealand-owned, Christchurch-headquartered science systems consultancy bringing together ecological expertise, geospatial systems, workflow automation, and science interpretation.
Our Role
We take complex environmental information and make it usable, ensuring it is clearly understood, reliably interpreted, and able to support practical action across programmes and projects.
Our People
Our team brings together ecological scientists, geospatial specialists, solution and automation engineers, and science interpreters working across freshwater, wetland, estuarine, and coastal environments.
Together, we operate across a range of programmes and projects, from catchment-scale management through to infrastructure delivery, ecological restoration, and long-term monitoring.
Where We Work
Our field operations span the lower North Island (supported through our Marton office) and the central South Island (Canterbury through to the West Coast), with additional regions supported where aligned opportunities arise.
Through our structured systems, data workflows, and science interpretation capability, we operate nationally.
Our Values
We are guided by:
- scientific integrity – ensuring our work is robust, transparent, and defensible
- clarity and innovation – structuring complex information so it can be understood, applied, and continually improved
- practical outcomes – focusing on solutions that can be implemented in the real world and make a measurable difference
- effective collaboration – working constructively across organisations, disciplines, and communities to deliver enduring environmental outcomes
Our Vision
Aotearoa New Zealand’s waterways, wetlands, estuaries, and coastlines are healthy, resilient, and supported by informed communities and decisions grounded in science.
Our Mission
To apply ecological science and structured environmental systems to bridge the gap between research and action, supporting clear, robust, and defensible decisions across environmental programmes and projects.
