The Community-based Freshwater Monitoring Website Scoping Document is out!
We’re always looking for ways to support communities committed to learning about their local waterways and improving the health of their awa. With the support of the ‘Wai Connection – Tatai Ki Te Wai’ project, we’ve completed a detailed scoping document to guide the development of a community-based freshwater monitoring website. This future website will serve as an interactive hub where communities can upload, track, and interpret their freshwater monitoring data, empowering them with insights that drive informed action. It will build on the community-based monitoring quality assurance (CBM QA) framework and connect seamlessly with other local initiatives.
Our scoping document provides not only a clear picture of costs but also an outline of the site’s value, helping secure future support for ongoing refinements and expansion. With the scoping phase for the Community-based Freshwater Monitoring (CBFM) website now complete, we’re excited to take the next steps toward a ‘proof of concept’ site that will showcase its functionality and community impact.
